We are jump starting an action packed day in the community by hosting a 5k (formerly the Dorcas Dash)! The Play Every Day 5k encompasses  Buxton Recreation's motto "Play, Every, Day". We are looking forward to promoting a day were our community is coming together to play and celebrate! The PLAY EVERY DAY 5k will benefit the Town of Buxton Keep The Heat On and our Scholarship program. New this year is a Kiddie Fun Run! The first 50 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt! Lets get those sneakers laced up! 

Date: Saturday, August 17th 
Registration/Check-in Time: 7am 
Location: Tory Hill Meeting House, 1197 River Road, Buxton Me, 04093
Kiddie Fun Run: 7:45am 
5k Race Start time: 8am 
Pre-Registration: $30 (plus registration fee at check out)  
Day of Registration: $35 (cash or check) 
* Kids age 12 and under are Free! Registration will need to be completed day of.

To guarantee t-shirt in your size the deadline for online registrations is Sunday, July 14th. Day of registration will start at 7am day of race. Day of race registration will be strictly cash or check. 

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the top overall female and male runners. Medals will be awarded to top runners in the following categories. 




  • 19 and under male and female 


  • 20-29 male and female 


  • 30-39 male and female 


  • 40-49 male and female 


  • 50-59 male and female 


  • 60-69 male and female 


  • 70+ male and female. 




Race Policy: 




  • Strollers will not be permitted on the race course 


  • Dogs or other animals will not be permitted on the race course 


  • If race is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, there will be no make-up date and no refunds.
